On any of a hundred social media accounts and web domains, you will invariably run into the self-proclaimed “wonderful work” and “achievements” of Rebecca Rodriguez and her best friend and co-conspirator Alycia Barlow (was Alycia Barlow Hadfield but now divorced) of then Animal House (just 1 of about 10 company registrations used by Rodriguez) in their “rebuilding of an animal shelter” in Othello Washington in and around October 2014.
We might duplicate screenshots as they match with our analysis throughout this post. Sorry about that. The full article whence this information is sourced is uploaded at the end of the post.
Let’s take an in-depth look at this situation.
Adams County Pet Rescue in Othello Washington had themselves already raised $250 000 over the past few years – all on their own – with their independent fundraising efforts with no help from Rodriguez whatsoever. Also note that the bulk of the work had already been done by the shelter! All Rodriguez had to do was organize $50 000 in supplies and labour and film the event for self-promotion, infamy and money! In the end, she couldn’t even deliver that!
Adams County Pet Rescue only needed $50 000 in labor and materials to complete the rebuilding regardless and independent to Rodriguez’s “arrival” with her “amazing idea” of turning the rebuilding of the shelter into a film/tv production!
Adams County Pet Rescue had already independently procured a piece of land for development for a new shelter after their shelter burnt to the ground and many animals there died. Note on their current website NO MENTION WHATSOEVER of Rebecca Rodriguez and Alycia Barlow of Animal House or their involvement in the “rebuilding of the shelter”. No accolades, no kind words thanking Animal House, zero zip nada!
Out of 180 applicants, Adams County Pet Rescue was “chosen” by Rodriguez and Barlow because “they met their needs to create a successful show within the boundaries of their budget and early sponsor relationships” which totaled $100,000 plus an additional $25,000 grant.
Rodriguez and Barlow have clearly told the author of this article that Animal House was a non-profit foundation at the time. This project occurred in October 2014. Check out when Animal House was actually registered as a non-profit, 3 years later!
Also note that volunteers came to work on the project with zero involvement and independent to Rodriguez and Barlow who couldn’t get it together and accomplish the most basic requirements for this project to be successful.
These are the experiences of an unfortunate lady who worked “with” Rodriguez and Barlow on this “project” and who was repeatedly threatened with legal action, bullied, cyber-stalked and harassed by them for revealing the true “behind-the-scenes” chaos. Clearly neither Rodriguez or Barlow of Animal House accomplished anything besides turning this entire fiasco into a film production to hopefully sell onto major TV networks which would benefit nobody but themselves. This had nothing to do with actually helping the shelter or the animals housed there!
Rodriguez and her “team” accomplished very little for animals since Animal House “Charity” couldn’t even raise the $50 000 in supplies and labour that was needed in order for this project to be completed. Clearly, Sandy Dye Carbaugh managed to pull this all together.
Rodriguez and Barlow outright lied to the author of this article, wherein they claimed Animal House was a registered non-profit at the time. Actually, it was only registered almost 3 years later as a non-profit. Why this constant lying?
Truthfully, Rodriguez and her accomplices – Alycia Barlow, Dan Allen and Miguel Abi-Hassan did absolutely nothing for Adams County Pet Rescue other than use their dire predicament and desperation to convince them to agree to allow Animal House to turn the rebuilding of their shelter into a “project” Rodriguez could benefit and profit from.
Multiple staff members were so horribly harassed, abused and bullied, many, including top management of the shelter, resigned. Strangely enough Alycia Barlow’s daughter took over a management position at Adams County PR shortly after the resignation of a dedicated animal-lover/advocate who had been involved in animal rescue for many years.
Their mission was always FILM PRODUCTION, INFAMY and MONEY – This is clear from all the evidence. Rodriguez never gets involved with any “animal-related situation” unless she benefits or profits in some way. Anyone can claim to be an “animal advocate”. Anyone can claim to be an “animal hero”.
